After Attending ASEAN Summit, Australian PM Visits Indonesia

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard will visit Indonesia on November 1 -2, at the invitation of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, according to the Australian Embassy in a press statement here over the weekend. Both leaders will discuss efforts to strengthen bilateral relations and increase cooperation in various economic, security, development and environment fields.

The Australian prime minister’s visit follows the historical visit of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to Australia last March and is in accordance with the commitment of both leaders to hold annual meetings in Australia or in Indonesia.       Indonesia is an important partner of Australia, according to the press statement.
